Molecular BEC of Li-6 Dimers in a Low Power Crossed Dipole Trap

Abstract: Recent investigations by several groups have demonstrated that it is possible to produce a highly stable molecular BEC of 6Li2 molecules composed of fermionic atoms, which exhibit lifetimes of some tens of seconds, compared to typically 1 ms or less for quantum degenerate molecular gases obtained from bosonic atoms. We report the production of our first molecular Bose-Einstein condensates of lithium-6 dimers in a low power crossed optical dipole trap.
