Search for a permanent EDM of Hg 199 atoms
Abstract: Atomic EDM searches provide an extremely sensitive probe to CP violation beyond the standard model. Our measurements with Hg 199 currently provide the most precise upper bound on a permanent EDM of any system, and could be sensitive to an EDM of the nucleons or a CP violating nucleon-nucleon interaction. Details and recent data of our measurement utilizing a stack of four vapor cells will be presented.
