Exploiting the unique properties of carbon and boron nitride nanotubes
Abstract: Nanotubes formed from carbon and boron nitride have unusual geometrical and electronic properties. The low-dimensional systems provide not only rich physics, but they are also well suited to a variety of applications, in particular nanoelectromechanical systems (NEMS). I will describe some of the interesting properties of nanotubes and recent successes in exploiting them.
